Father’s Day is fast approaching, and it’s one of the best holidays for the summer months. What better way to show your appreciation to fathers than to give them a special treat? This June, use this Modded list for seven ideas for celebrating Father’s Day, whether you’re a father or planning a special day for your husband, father or grandfather.

1. Serve Breakfast in Bed

The best Father’s Day starts with the most important meal of the day. Make him an all-star-worthy breakfast of his favorite foods. You could use time-honored classics like pancakes, eggs, bacon and more. Or you can use this opportunity to find a new recipe like French-inspired buckwheat crepes or eggs Florentine with hollandaise sauce. Serve it in bed to start celebrating Father’s Day the right way.

2. Make a Special Dinner

Good food doesn’t have to stop at breakfast. Use Father’s Day to make him a special dinner at home or take him to his favorite restaurant. The holiday lands in the middle of June, so it’s a perfect time to fire up the grill and cook some tasty burgers or gigantic ribeye steaks. Use this occasion to get a special dinner like Japanese wagyu steaks, bison burgers or lamb chops. Find a treat he doesn’t get to enjoy often.

3. Go to a Beer Tasting

When planning activities, numerous options exist to take the father in your life. One popular choice is to take him to a brewery for a beer tasting. For example, Anheuser-Busch’s headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, has a brewery experience for Budweiser lovers and lifelong Dale Earnhardt Jr. fans. Or you could have fun at home with new beers and play blind taste tests to see how much of a connoisseur he is.

4. Buy Concert Tickets

What are some of his favorite music groups now and when he was growing up? Has he ever seen them in concert? Some of his beloved bands may include Metallica, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden and more. What do all those bands have in common? They’re still on tour. Even if he’s seen them before, get your father tickets to see his favorite bands. You never know when these legends hang it up for good.

5. Have a Movie Night

A movie day is a terrific way to celebrate Father’s Day if he wants a day to stay home with the family. Find dad-approved flicks to watch, like “Die Hard,” “Fight Club,” “Rocky” and other legendary films he enjoys. Or you could hit play on movies with fatherhood themes, such as “Field of Dreams,” “Father of the Bride,” “The Pursuit of Hayppyness” and “Parenthood.”

6. Hit the Fairways

What goes better than a warm June day and 18 holes of golf? The combination is tried and true, and he’ll enjoy celebrating Father’s Day with a relaxing golf day. Get him a tee time at his favorite golf course nearby. Or go all out and book reservations at some of the world’s most famous golf courses. Some examples in the US include Augusta National, where they play the Masters, Pebble Beach or Seminole Golf Club.

7. Test Drive a Stock Car

Do you have a racing fan in your life? A terrific Father’s Day gift would be tickets to the NASCAR Racing Experience. This day will blow him away because he’ll ride in a stock car for three or six laps with an instructor driving. Or he can take the wheel himself and see what it’s like to be Jeff Gordon.

The driving experience is available at many NASCAR tracks nationwide, including Daytona International Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, Auto Club Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway and many other tracks.

Celebrating Father’s Day the Right Way

People have been celebrating Father’s Day since the Middle Ages in Europe. The modern version of this holiday started in 1910, and it’s been on the third Sunday of June yearly.
